My Double Life Janette Rallison Books
To be honest, I got this for free and I didn't really want to read it. I didn't really like the premise. But I always seem to underestimate Janette Rallison. I finished the book in 24 hours and I loved it. And it's ridiculous that I loved it because I still don't really like the premise, but there was something so wonderful about the book anyway. She has a way of making me invest in the characters and emotions. The plot isn't that realistic, but it feels so real, and I am glad that there is this wonderfully happy version of the world, where problems can get resolved and everything manages to work out. But it's not fluff, even though I sort of expected it to be fluff--the story took on real problems, real emotions.
I feel with a lot of books I read that they sound like they are going to be good, and then they just fall flat--too much story, not enough heart to them, and I forget them immediately. But with Janette Rallison's books, there is always so much heart crammed in those pages.
It was just surprisingly sincere and good.

My Double Life Janette Rallison Books Reviews
"My Double Life" is a fun, easy read that takes you to Hollywood. Alexia Garcia lives in West Virginia with her mom and Abuela (grandma.) Alexia looks just like the singer Kari Kingsley. When she is offered to act as Kari's double she takes the job to earn money for college and finally meet her father. Alexia is thrown into the world of fame and money. She can't help falling for the hot famous singer Grant Delray. The only problem is, she isn't herself and she wonders if he'd like her if he knew she was just a normal girl in high school.
You get a inside look of what it's like to be famous. Alexia has to find herself in this coming of age story. Read the new bonus scenes at the end. You will LOVE it!
So I liked the story of Grant and Lexi. Or should I say Grant and Kari? I liked the story of Kari and Lexi. I even liked the story of Sabrina and Alex. I am not sure I wanted it to end. But all good things must end. Or so they say. I did have issues with the ethics of pretending to be someone else but I can understand why someone would do it. The book has sad moments. It also is a bit too perfect. But it was a fun story and I enjoyed it. Janette Ralliston just has a way with her books.
The cover drew me into this book, but the storyline sucked me into a world of glitz and glamor like a rock star. Author Janette Rallison is descriptive, she has a way to capture you from the very first sentence. This book has it all. An amazing plot, wickedly addicting twists, a well throughout drama that will have you smiling and wanting more. This is what you can expect to find in this book. Main character Alexia Garcia is amazing and this flick will have you wishing you were her.

No, it's not War and Peace, but I wasn't looking for that - I was looking for an entertaining romance and this totally delivered.
There were a couple of times that I thought the author was going to take things a different direction than she did, and 1 or 2 where I wondered why she didn't, but it was such a well done story that I just sat back and enjoyed the ride.
I kind of wish we were told what happened to everyone in an epilogue. (Even conniving Maren - maybe she ended up becoming besties with Lorna, lol)
I gave this book four stars because it was such a sweet and easy overnight read. It is N old storyline but well written, enough to be believable and romantic without sex or vulgarity. Quite wholesome and something I believe my teenage daughter would also enjoy. Reminds me a bit of the Mills and Boon romances of earlier days. It was well written with solid dialogue and just enough drama. Well done.
I've been reading Janette Rallison's books for years and this one is as funny and delightful as I expected. 18 year old Alexia looks so much like a famous rock star named Kari Kingsley she could pass for her twin. She is hired to be Kari's double and craziness ensues. A hilarious reminder that lying brings nothing but disaster, and forgiveness and kindness are always better than anger, bitterness and rude behavior. As always there are stand out lines that make me laugh out loud. My favorite in My Double Life is Lexi's inner observation of dancing couples at a club. I won't give it away-you'll know it when you read it! My other favorite part is the happy ending. This is not a book full of angst, violence, drugs or the paranormal in spite of the passing references to zombies and the Cullens. It's a lighthearted romance but with well drawn characters who might make poor decisions in the heat of the moment but try to be responsible and face the consequences. That is, once they wake up and realize the mess their lives are in through their own poor judgment. Rallison manages to keep it clean and funny and enthralling all at the same time.
I can’t help but to start off my review with a big grin on my face. Janette Rallison is one funny author! Her humor is brilliantly and authentically woven into her YA book--My Double Life.
The story is about Alexia Garcia, a teenage girl who finds out she has a twin. And even though they look alike, their lives are completely the opposite. Like, on the other side of the tracks, or the grass is greener on the other side, opposite!
Anyhow, Alexia gets offered a job to double as the rich and famous Kari Kingsley (Alexia’s celebrity twin)! Shocker, I know! But how do you think Alexia felt when she found out? Still, there’s one more secret that will change Alexia’s life, including all those she’s related to. Oh, there’s a cute boy involved too. )
My Double Life is a fun and fast-paced read. It’ll make you laugh a lot too!
